To use being a partner, both you and your partner both have to be 18 or higher.

Your lover should also either:

• be considered a uk resident
• Have settled in the UK — for example, they have indefinite leave to remain, settled proof or status of permanent residence
• have refugee status or humanitarian security in the united kingdom
